The center has a long history, dating back to 1993, when the Department of Skill Development under the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare approved the establishment of the “Skill Standard Testing Center for Overseas Employment.” The approval was granted under License No. 061/2536, issued on July 15, 1993.
At that time, many Thai workers lacked sufficient knowledge and technical skills, preventing them from passing standard assessments in various industrial trades. To address this challenge, plans were made to establish a short-term vocational school aimed at enhancing knowledge, upgrading skills, and strengthening the capabilities of Thai workers. The goal was to ensure that Thai labor would meet quality standards and be recognized both domestically and internationally.
The center has since been equipped with comprehensive training and testing facilities, covering a wide range of professions such as carpentry, masonry, bricklaying, metalwork, welding, drywall installation, plumbing, and electrical work. In addition, skill assessments are also available in service-oriented fields, including supermarket operations, merchandise display, kitchen assistance, and cleaning services. Today, the Udon Thani Skill Development and Testing Center plays a vital role in strengthening the potential of Thai workers, preparing them with confidence and competence to succeed in the labor market.
